Bob Lite / Genius Lite

Under 'Advanced', 'Routing Settings', you can add static routes. There is room for a network address, subnet mask and gateway.

You need to setup some static routes like this:

Network Address: 8.8.8.8
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.255
Gateway: (use the IP address of your bob lite - this is the IP that's in the browser URL)

Once done, save the settings, and it will make room for you to add more, you also need add these:

Network Address: 8.8.4.4
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.255
Gateway: (use the IP address of your bob lite)

Network Address: 208.67.222.222
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.255
Gateway: (use the IP address of your bob lite)

Network Address: 209.244.0.3
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.255
Gateway: (use the IP address of your bob lite)

For NETFLIX apps of any device you also need to add following static routes;

Some of our users also suggested the use following static routes. But these may also cause issues on some other user networks. So please use the first set of static routes first and then if needed you can try followings:

Network Address: 23.246.0.0
Subnet Mask: 255.255.192.0 (or /18)
Gateway: (use the IP address of your router)

Network Address: 198.38.96.0
Subnet Mask: 255.255.224.0 (or /19)
Gateway: (use the IP address of your router)

Thank you for the quick and easy instructions. I'm in NZ and have an ADSL Router provided by ISP Orcon. It is called a Genius Lite, which I believe is a rebranded iiNet router also known as Bob-Lite.

Unfortunately, I didn't find your FAQ on Chromecast because I didn't see it listed in the supported devices page so had to find out the Static Routes settings the old fashioned way - Google searching.

Anyway, it is working correctly. Thanks for providing such a great service to Aussies and Kiwis.

Thanks for the feedback Doug, great to know. We'll update the articles to reflect the fact that these are the same devices.
